Cyprian Josson’s French Journal Episode 2: The Story of Madame Dubois: Feedback & Conversation

Nollywood France white french woman cashier searching the bag of a black man

The title indicates a racist ploy that entrenches a suspicious miasma that goes with the black man in his sojourn in a white man’s land. The opening read is not a palatable sauce as criminality abounds both within the black and white enclaves.

Madame Dubois represents one of those rare white species who are determined to bend the rules no matter whose ox is gored. She is a conscience-ridden benign personality who believes that work ethics should be universal and not discriminatory. Her astute determination to change the routine yielded positive accolades and changed her emerging and seeming ‘Femme Fatale’ image to one who is determined to seek for all and win for herself a deserving peace of mind for enforcing justice and equity. With time she becomes a darling of all who demand a saner society devoid of color prejudice. She successfully makes her job more exciting from her own choice and perspectives. She is obviously a role model for all who desire to make the world a better place.

I was kind to Madame Dubois in my piece because in real life she represents all the uneducated French fellows who can’t stand the presence of black people. It was my observation yesterday in a supermarket that prompted that article. I wanted her to be a better citizen in my article. Alas, she is a racist and will die in her ignorance. Poor Madame Dubois!

Mon Dieu!! Quel dommage!! Her illiterate mind is her undoing and with time she might change.

Some of them do not want African doctors working in hospitals here to treat them.
But they have no choice because France is changing to a positive diversity. There is something now called the French dream. If you work hard you will succeed in France! Madame Dubois’s job is very boring, sitting there for 12 hours punching on the cash machine….! That’s the illiterate mind. You can see her clearly from your desk. Thanks for your contribution to this article.
